Privacy Policy
Quick navigation
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how the owner of Aivida (“Owner,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Aivida mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
2. Data we collect
We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information generated through your use of the Service, and (c) information from third parties you connect or use through the Service.
2.1 Information you provide
- Account data: email address, name (if provided), and authentication-related data needed to create and operate your account.
- Nutrition, diet, and health-related data: nutrition profile information and related data you choose to enter, such as dietary preferences, goals, body-related inputs, food intake logs, and other diet-tracking information.
- Household & app content: chores, schedules, follow-ups, notes, pantry items, meal entries, and other content you create in the Service.
- AI inputs and interaction history: questions, prompts, requests, and related content you submit when using AI-assisted features, as well as associated AI-generated responses and history needed to provide those features.
- Images you submit for food logging or AI-assisted features: if you choose to upload or capture a food or meal photo, the image may be transmitted to our servers for processing. These images are used only to generate or support the requested feature result and are not persisted by us after processing, unless we explicitly state otherwise in the feature flow.
- Support communications: information you provide when you contact support.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & app information: device type, operating system, app version, language, and technical identifiers necessary to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
- Subscription and entitlement status: information needed to determine whether you have access to paid features, including subscription state and related entitlement status.
- Usage, analytics, and diagnostic data: interactions with features, analytics events, performance metrics, error reports, crash diagnostics, and related troubleshooting data used to understand app usage, improve the Service, and maintain reliability.
- Security and service integrity data: limited technical information used to protect accounts, detect abuse, prevent fraud, and keep the Service functioning reliably.
2.3 Information from third parties
- External sign-in providers: if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive identifiers and basic account information as permitted by those providers, such as email address and provider-linked user identifiers.
- Subscription and purchase providers: app stores and subscription management providers may provide purchase status, transaction-related information, and entitlement data so we can manage paid access.
- Food databases: when you use barcode or product lookup features, product metadata such as product name, ingredients, nutrition labels, and serving details may be retrieved from third-party food data providers and used to prefill food logging fields.
- AI processing providers: when you use AI-assisted features, the information you submit for those features, including prompts, relevant context from your content, and images you voluntarily submit for food logging or AI-assisted analysis, may be processed by third-party AI providers in order to generate a response.
Sensitive data: If you enter nutrition, diet, or health-related information, it may be considered sensitive in some jurisdictions. Only provide data you are comfortable storing electronically.
3. How we use data
We use information to operate and improve the Service, including to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- Provide household organization, scheduling, follow-up, nutrition logging, diet tracking, and related app functionality.
- Process AI-assisted requests and generate insights, summaries, recommendations, and other outputs you request.
- Process images you voluntarily submit for food logging or AI-assisted features, without persisting those images after processing unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Store and sync your content across your account and devices.
- Perform barcode-based food lookups and prefill nutrition logging data.
- Manage subscriptions, purchases, and entitlement access.
- Maintain safety, integrity, and security and prevent abuse or fraud.
- Analyze feature usage, app performance, diagnostics, and crash information to improve the Service and troubleshoot issues.
- Provide customer support and respond to requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: with vendors that help us operate the Service, such as hosting, databases, storage, authentication, analytics, monitoring, crash reporting, subscription management, barcode/product lookup, and AI processing providers. These vendors may process data only on our behalf and for the services they provide to us.
- AI processing providers: when you use AI-assisted features, we may send the information you submit for those features, including prompts, related content context, and images you voluntarily submit for food logging or AI-assisted analysis, to service providers that help us generate a response. Images submitted for these features are used for processing the requested result and are not persisted by us after processing unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Subscription and purchase providers: we may receive and use subscription, transaction, and entitlement information from app stores and subscription management partners in order to provide paid features.
- Barcode lookup providers: when you scan a barcode, we or your app client may send the barcode and related request metadata to third-party food data providers to retrieve product data. Do not use barcode scan if you do not want such requests sent to those providers.
- External sign-in: when you choose Apple/Google sign-in, those providers process information as described in their policies.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets (subject to appropriate confidentiality protections).
- Aggregated/anonymous data: we may share aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
Third-party providers such as external sign-in providers, food data providers, subscription partners, analytics and crash-reporting vendors, and AI providers operate independently from Aivida. Their processing of data is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for unauthorized access outside our reasonable control.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, devices, and authentication credentials.
6. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention depends on the type of data, how it’s used, and legal requirements.
If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify information associated with your account, subject to required retention for legal, security, and operational reasons (e.g., fraud prevention, backups for a limited period, and accounting records as required by law).
If we suspend or discontinue the Service, we may close accounts and delete or de-identify stored account data after a reasonable transition period, unless longer retention is required by law, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational needs.
7. Your choices & rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights relating to your personal information, such as access, correction, deletion, objection/restriction, and portability.
You can typically update basic account information in the app. To request access or deletion, contact us using the details below.
7.1 Marketing
If we send marketing communications, you can opt out using the unsubscribe mechanism or by contacting us. Service-related messages (e.g., security notices) may still be sent.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and may provide additional notice within the Service.
